Michael Bershears – CEO
Michael has served in many management and executive roles during the many years he has been in the network marketing industry. He has served as President or COO for multiple companies, including companies that had sales up to $200 million. His responsibilities have encompassed all aspects of the network marketing business – from logistics and fulfillment to customer service to distributor services and marketing and technology. He has also directed the development and management of international operations and expansion. Michael has developed the internal processes and led teams to provide for rapid company growth. He also has been and continues to be active in the industry trade group, the Direct Selling Association (DSA). Michael has served in many management and executive roles during the many years he has been in the network marketing industry. He has served as President or COO for multiple companies, including companies that had sales up to $200 million. His responsibilities have encompassed all aspects of the network marketing business – from logistics and fulfillment to customer service to distributor services and marketing and technology. He has also directed the development and management of international operations and expansion. Michael has developed the internal processes and led teams to provide for rapid company growth. He also has been and continues to be active in the industry trade group, the Direct Selling Association (DSA). Michael attended the University of Utah and the University of Phoenix in Business Administration. He then joined the retail and distribution industry and served in various management and executive roles with large companies in that industry. He was later introduced to MLM and the network marketing business model. Seeing the great opportunities of this industry, both from a company perspective and especially for the distributors, Michael was captivated and thus begun a great involvement with this exciting and dynamic industry.
Greg Petralia – VP Marketing & North America
Greg brings a high level of entrepreneurial spirit to the team. He has been involved in the network marketing industry for over 16 years as a distributor, start up consultant and as a high level corporate executive. His passion for free enterprise is infectious and a key element for what makes Greg tick. He has led large distributor organizations and has served as Director of International Marketing and Vice President of Sales in previous network marketing companies. He has also opened up markets for these companies to enter into such as: Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and Europe. Having been a business owner himself, Greg understands business and has also served as the Vice President of North America Sales for a high-tech security device company. He is known by the field as a tireless worker committed to the success of Kyani and its distributors. Greg brings a high level of entrepreneurial spirit to the team. Kirk Hansen – Chairmen of the Board, Co-Founder, Investor
Kirk’s role as “Chairmen” of the board is a key component to the over all Kyani strategic plan. The Board of Directors is a cohesive unit of members consisting of the founders and investors who provide a solid foundation of capital (Hundreds of millions in combined investor assets) and business success to back and support Kyani. Kirk has been immersed in business his entire life and has demonstrated strong leadership and vision. He personally played an integral role in taking his family business from humble beginnings to annual sales in excess of $300 million. Their business interest includes being the largest private petroleum distributor in 9 states as well as having large commercial holdings in real estate. Because of Kirk’s experience combined with the partner investors, the Taylor Family, who own one of the largest agricultural and ranching operations in the state of Idaho, the board of directors looks to Kirk’s rare determination and strong will to succeed as an assurance for Kyäni’s long-term growth and success.
Jason Freckleton – CFO
Jason received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, graduating with honors, from Idaho State University in 1996. He passed the CPA exam in 2000 on his first try, a feat only accomplished by 15% of those taking the exam for the first time. Jason spent the first 11 years of his career working for various companies in the agriculture and food processing industries. He has served in the corporate controller position for the last 7 of those years. In that position he was responsible for the accurate preparation of the financial statements, setting up accounting controls, and managment of the office staff. He was also an integral part in securing capital and operating financing. His experience also includes budgeting and forcasting, financial analysis, and cost analysis. Upon seeing the growth and opportunities that existed within the company, he joined the Kyäni team in April 2008.
Steven Hatch – VP International Operations
Steven is the Kyäni Vice President of International Operations. Steven comes to us with a deep and diverse level of sales and marketing experience. He recently served as the President of an Idaho RealEstate association with annual sales in excess of $300,000,000. Prior to that he opened a multi-state market for a telecom company and grew it to over $1,000,000 in profits within the first 14 months. He also played a key role in taking another startup telecom from 0 to 10,000 plus customers in less than a year. Steven’s experience in training and organizational execution runs deep. He co-authored a seminar with an internationally renowned author and trainer from Ken Blanchard’s group. He has also co-authored and presented multiple seminars at Franklin Covey and other organizations. Steven’s product development includes design and ownership of a domestic patent, and products developed and sold through Franklin Covey and Successories Inc. He is also an author with his book being sold through multiple national chain bookstores. Steven brings a strong history of accomplishments and problem solving. Steven also has a passion for health and excellence. He competed in an international health competition and finished in the top 6%. Additionally, Steven is an internationally recognized photographer, having won multiple international competitions and has had his work grace the covers of multiple magazines. Steven and his wife Maria have six children. They have resided in Idaho Falls, Idaho for many years, with Steven being very active in the community affairs of Idaho Falls.
Dr. Abbas Qutab – Head of Medical & Science Board
Dr. Abbas Qutab is the head of the Medical and Scientific Board for Kyani. Dr. Abbas Qutab is the founder of Elan Vital Medical Centers located in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts. Since they first opened in 1989, these clinics have been the choice of many thousands of people around the world seeking complementary and alternative medicine treatments. Dr. Qutab holds degrees in medicine, oriental medicine and chiropractic, and has a Ph.D. in Ayurvedic medicine. He is one of very few physicians in the U.S. who has been awarded an honorary Sc.D. from the World Health Organization Charted University for his work in promoting alternative medicine. Dr. Qutab travels extensively and has taught thousands of physicians in the U. S. and Europe on how to integrate alternative medicine into their practices. He is a sought-after speaker for conferences and health expositions throughout the world. His speaking engagements include the World Health Organization Congress on Complementary Medicine, and lectures at numerous hospitals, such as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital and UMASS Memorial Hospital. Dr. Qutab has also extensively researched nitric oxide and all of its functions in the body. He is the author of Nitric Oxide-The Molecule of Life, which has been translated into several languages. This book brings exciting details of this amazing molecule, with all of its powerful and positive effects on human health. Dr. Qutab is also co-author of several books on ayurvedic medicine; he is also board-certified in naturopathic medicine. He has received several leadership awards for promoting complementary medicine. Dr. Qutab is on the advisory board of the Congressional Health Care Reforms Committee in Washington, D.C. In 2003 he received the “Physician of the Year” award by US Congress for his active role in the NRCC of the National Health Care and Medicare Reforms Committee.
